In 2006, Guy and Sarah purchased the barns as derelict agricultural buildings, beginning a journey of restoration that would preserve their unique charm. Guy carefully and thoughtfully restored the barns, maintaining the original character and quirks. These historic features are especially evident in Hideaway Barn, where details like the small 'nooks' once used to hold a farmer’s candles while tending to cattle have been preserved—though now, they are lit by electricity!
Sampson Barn entered the holiday rental market in 2015, and since then, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming guests back for their second, third, and even fourth stays.
Hideaway Barn was updated in 2018 and opened for holiday rentals in the summer of 2019. It’s already enjoyed a number of repeat bookings, and we’re thrilled to continue sharing its charm with guests old and new.
We pride ourselves on being completely dog-friendly—not just dog-tolerant! As dog owners ourselves, we know how important it is for your furry family members to feel just as welcome and comfortable as you do. All we ask is that if your dogs are used to lounging on the sofa or sleeping on the bed, you bring your own throws or bedding for them.
Nestled in a peaceful hamlet, the barns offer easy access to the vibrant towns of Penzance, Helston, St Ives, and Hayle. With the beach just a 5-minute drive away, you can enjoy the best of both worlds—relax by the coast and retreat to your own private space, even during the busier months.
Our housekeeping staff have always kept the barns exceptionally clean. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, staff have been fully briefed on the additional sanitising measures and this is rigorously checked by Guy in between check-out and check-in.
When you book directly with us, you’re connecting straight with the holiday accommodation owner. This direct approach streamlines communication and ensures all your holiday needs are met with ease. Enjoy the benefits of no booking fees, no unexpected charges for extras, and no commission fees—just a straightforward and personal booking experience.
We offer a range of short breaks (minimum 3 nights) in the low and mid seasons. Do get in touch if you can't see the dates you are looking for and we'll see what we can do!
